In Assamese, Jonaki means firefly.
To me, it signifies so much more.
It stands for growth and friendship.
When I was younger, I spent most of my years in a half-painted,
light yellow apartment in the middle of a tiny city -
it called itself Jonaki.
Years later, I built my strongest friendships amidst a sea of fireflies -
quite literally (!)
